National Institute of Technology Silchar is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education offering undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral programs in Engineering, Sciences and Management. The institute invites applications for the following faculty positions for various departments of the Institute from Indian nationals fulfilling eligibility criteria, possessing excellent academic records, commitment to quality teaching and research, and a propensity for institutional development.

1. Candidates willing to apply for the posts advertised are requested to apply through online portal URL: https://recruitment.nits.ac.in/level11 and send the filled in downloaded online application form duly signed along with self-attested supporting documents such as relevant testimonials, certificates, age proof, educational certificates, experience certificates, etc., by speed/ registered posts to the Dean(FW), National Institute of Technology Silchar, P.O. REC Silchar – 788010, Dist. Cachar, Assam. 2. The applications received through any other mode shall not be accepted and summarily rejected. All the supporting documents must be in PDF format with size less than 2MB. For research publications, upload only the first page of the paper. The last date for submission of online application is 01 June 2026. The downloaded and signed application should reach NIT Silchar within 01.06.2026.
3. No fee payment.
4. The candidates has to take the print out of the downloaded .pdf file of the final application and send it through proper channel to the following address:

5. Candidates are encouraged to check the institute website regularly for any update.
6. All qualifications and experiences will be considered up to the 01.06.2026.

1. It is for the information of all candidates that they must submit the signed hardcopy of the application to the institute.
2. Since departments/specializations are many and not comparable with each other, a uniform standard/norms for shortlisting of a candidate by a department is not feasible. Hence, department may fix different shortlisting criteria for a post/specialization.
3. The institute reserves the right to modify/defer or cancel full/part of the recruitment process at any stage without assigning any reason thereof.
4. The prescribed qualifications and experiences are minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview.
5. No correspondence will be entertained with the candidates, who are not called for interview or not selected for appointment.
6. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification of candidature.
7. Legal disputes, if any, will be restricted within the jurisdiction of Silchar Court only.
8. The candidate must bring the printed copy of the application form duly signed by him/her at the time of personal interview, if called for, with all original documents, Government Issued ID card and must submit self-attested photocopies of the documents. They are also required to submit self-attested copy of Government issued ID card along with two copies of recent colored passport-size photograph at the time of interview, if called for.
9. All reserved category candidates shall be required to submit self-attested copies of the latest Caste/ EWS certificate issued by competent authority at the time of interview, if called for, with all original documents. Similarly, PWD candidates shall be required to submit proof of physical disability certificate of permanent nature from competent medical authority at the time of interview, if called for, with all original documents.
10. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.
11. No accommodation will be provided for attending the interview.
12. Candidates are requested to provide their active email id and mobile phone numbers/landline phone numbers in the application form for easy contact.
13. The institute reserves the right to reject any or all applications or it may amend any of the above-mentioned clauses as per the orders of the competent authority/Govt. of India.
14. Incomplete/unsigned applications shall be summarily rejected and no communication in this regard shall be entertained.
